Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with longtime publisher.
Prolific young adult author and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, as confirmed by the firm.
A spokesman for the firm stated: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the move was reached following an investigation into claims about inappropriate behaviour directed at women.
The company has not elaborated on the reasons for its decision, noting: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."
A Highly Successful Publishing History
Walliams stands as a most best-selling authors for kids, having sold over six tens of millions of copies globally in five dozen languages.
His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.
Some of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as television films.
He has published over four dozen titles altogether, including a Christmas book called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.
A Dual Career
His initial claim to fame came on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE several years ago in recognition of his work for the charitable sector and arts community.
This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
