Chiefs Confirm Domestic Violence Claims Connected to Player the Athlete
The NFL franchise issued a statement Wednesday night stating they have knowledge of claims of abuse made public in social media posts by a former girlfriend of player Rashee Rice and were in contact with the NFL.
The team did not mention Rice specifically in their announcement and stated they would have “no further comment at this time”.

The woman, who also did not mention Rice by name, shared a series of photos on Instagram that appeared to show signs of physical abuse. She stated the individual in question was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has two children with Rice, whom the team drafted in the 2023 draft.

No police reports were available in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have occurred.
Player's Prior Off-Field Troubles
The receiver missed the first six games of this NFL campaign due to an NFL suspension for his involvement in causing a multi-vehicle accident on a Texas roadway that left multiple people hurt. He was given a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to serious offenses.
On the field, Rice finished the year with 53 receptions for 571 yards and five TDs as the Chiefs went 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a decade.
