Barcelona to Host First Match at Renovated Camp Nou on Saturday
Barça revealed their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. The club will host the Bilbao team in the Spanish league two and a half years since relocating to allow renovations to start.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available with 45,401 fans will be allowed to watch under the licence granted. When completed, it will accommodate close to 105,000 fans, up from the previous 99,000. The club said recent additions comprise a renovated tunnel for players along with upgraded changing facilities.
Recent Activities
Barcelona held a public practice at the Camp Nou earlier this month. Officials stated they were hoping for permission from European football’s governing body to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt in December in the renovated venue. Previous fixtures took place at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
