A Pair of Suspects Charged for Prison Murder of Ex-Lostprophets Vocalist Ian Watkins

Two individuals now face murder charges after the incarceration fatality of one-time Lostprophets vocalist and found guilty of child sex crimes Ian Watkins.

The two men, Rashid Gedel (25) and Samuel Dodsworth (43) have both been charged with murder and are scheduled to appear in Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, per law enforcement officials.

Watkins, 48, was in the midst of a 29-year prison term at HMP Wakefield, alongside six more years under supervision, after confessing to numerous sex crimes including the tried rape of a very young child.

Watkins was apprehended subsequent to a drugs warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a large number of computers, mobile phones and storage devices were seized.
